What's in a name?
A smith makes things — a wordsmith, a locksmith, a blacksmith. We just wanted making things to be as easy as 1‑2‑3. So we put the two together: a smith for the 1‑2‑3 age. And a QR code turned out to be the perfect thing to smith — one little square you craft in three steps that then works forever, no forge required. 🔨
Why we built it
Most QR generators are a trap. You fill in your details, generate a code, print it on a thousand business cards — and then discover the code dies unless you keep paying a monthly fee, or that your data was quietly logged and resold. The market is loud with subscriptions and watermarks, and quiet about where your information goes.
123smith is the opposite. Every free code is static — the data is baked directly into the image, so it works forever, offline, with no server in the loop. There is no account to create, nothing to log in to, and nothing for us to leak.

Do my codes stop working if I stop paying?
Static codes work forever — they're encoded directly into the image and never touch our servers. Dynamic codes keep redirecting for a 30-day grace period after you cancel, then pause to a reactivate page (never an ad); resubscribe and they're instantly live again.
Does 123smith collect my data?
